Überliefert von Saʿīd ibn Dschubair:

Ich fragte Ibn ʿAbbās über die Sura At-Tauba, und er sagte: „Die Sura At-Tauba? Sie ist eine Bloßstellung (all der Übel der Ungläubigen und der Heuchler). Und sie wurde weiterhin offenbart mit der immer wiederkehrenden Formulierung: ‚… und unter ihnen … und unter ihnen …‘, bis sie zu denken begannen, dass darin niemand unerwähnt bleiben würde.“ Ich sagte: „Was ist mit der Sura Al-Anfal?“ Er antwortete: „Die Sura Al-Anfal wurde im Zusammenhang mit der Schlacht von Badr offenbart.“ Ich sagte: „(Und) was ist mit der Sura Al-Haschr?“ Er antwortete: „Sie wurde im Zusammenhang mit den Banū an-Nadīr offenbart.“

Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair:


I asked Ibn `Abbas about Surat Al-Tauba, and he said, "Surat Al-Tauba? It is exposure (of all the evils
of the infidels and the hypocrites). And it continued revealing (that the oft-repeated expression): '...and
of them ...and of them.' till they started thinking that none would be left unmentioned therein." I said,
"What about) Surat Al-Anfal?" He replied, "Surat Al-Anfal was revealed in connection with the Badr
Battle." I said, "(What about) Surat Al-Hashr?" He replied, "It was revealed in connection with Bani
an-Nadir."
