Hamzah ibn ʿAbdullah ibn ʿUmar überlieferte, dass sein Vater sagte:
„Hafsah, die Ehefrau des Propheten (ﷺ), sagte: ‚Es gibt kein Fasten für denjenigen, der nicht vor der Morgendämmerung die Absicht zum Fasten fasst.‘“
Hamzah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar narrated that his father said:
"Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'There is no fast for the one who does not intend (to fast) before dawn."'

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ " أَحَبُّ الصِّيَامِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ صِيَامُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا وَيُفْطِرُ يَوْمًا وَأَحَبُّ الصَّلاَةِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ صَلاَةُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَنَامُ نِصْفَ اللَّيْلِ وَيَقُومُ ثُلُثَهُ وَيَنَامُ سُدُسَهُ " .
ʿAbdullah ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ sagte:
„Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sagte: ‚Das Allah, dem Erhabenen und Majestätischen, beliebteste Fasten ist das Fasten Dāwūds, Allahs Friede sei auf ihm. Er pflegte einen Tag zu fasten und am nächsten nicht zu fasten. Und das Allah, dem Erhabenen und Majestätischen, beliebteste Gebet ist das Gebet Dāwūds, Allahs Friede sei auf ihm. Er pflegte die Hälfte der Nacht zu schlafen, ein Drittel davon im Gebet zu stehen und ein Sechstel davon zu schlafen.‘“
Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-As said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The most beloved fasting to Allah, the mighty and sublime, is the fast of Dawud, peace be upon him. He used to fast one day and not the next. And the most beloved prayer to Allah, the mighty and sublime, is the prayer of Dawud, peace be upon him. He used to sleep half the night, stand for one-third of it (in prayer), and sleep for one-sixth of it."'

Es wurde überliefert, dass Ibn ʿAbbās sagte:
„Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) pflegte so lange zu fasten, dass wir sagten, er werde sein Fasten nicht brechen, und er pflegte nicht zu fasten, sodass wir sagten, er wolle nicht fasten. Und er fastete, seit er nach al-Madīnah kam, keinen Monat vollständig außer dem Ramadan.“
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would fast until we said he would not break his fast, and he would not fast until we said he does not want to fast. And he never fasted any month in full apart from Ramadan, from the time he came to Al-Madinah."

Es wurde von ʿĀ'ischa überliefert, dass sie sagte:

"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to fast until we said: 'He does not want to break his fast.' And he used not to fast until we said: 'He does not want to fast."'

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ لاَ أَعْلَمُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ كُلَّهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ وَلاَ قَامَ لَيْلَةً حَتَّى الصَّبَاحِ وَلاَ صَامَ شَهْرًا قَطُّ كَامِلاً غَيْرَ رَمَضَانَ .
Es wurde überliefert, dass ʿĀʾischa sagte:
„Ich weiß nicht, dass der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) den gesamten Koran in einer Nacht rezitiert, das Nachtgebet bis zum Morgen verrichtet oder jemals einen ganzen Monat gefastet hätte – außer im Ramadan.“
It was narrated that 'Aishah said:
"I do not know that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited the whole Quran in one night, or prayed Qiyam until morning, or ever fasted an entire month, except Ramadan."

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ، ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ صَامَ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ وَمَا صَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ شَهْرًا كَامِلاً مُنْذُ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ إِلاَّ رَمَضَانَ .
Es wurde überliefert, dass ʿAbdullah ibn Shaqīq sagte:
„Ich fragte ʿĀʾischah nach dem Fasten des Gesandten Allahs. Sie sagte: ‚Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) pflegte so lange zu fasten, dass wir sagten: Er wird weiterhin fasten. Und er pflegte nicht zu fasten, bis wir sagten: Er wird nicht fasten. Seit er nach al-Madīnah gekommen war, fastete er keinen vollständigen Monat außer dem Ramadan.‘“
It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Shaqiq said:
"I asked 'Aishah about the fasting of the Messenger of Allah. She said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to fast until we said: He is going to (continue to) fast, and he used not to fast until we said: He is not going to, and he did not fast for a whole month from the time he came to Al-Madinah, apart from Ramadan."'

أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ، تَقُولُ كَانَ أَحَبَّ الشُّهُورِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَصُومَهُ شَعْبَانُ بَلْ كَانَ يَصِلُهُ بِرَمَضَانَ .
ʿĀischa sagte:
„Der Monat, in dem der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) am liebsten fastete, war Schaʿbān; tatsächlich pflegte er, ihn mit dem Ramadan zu verbinden.“
Aishah said:
"The month which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) most liked to fast was Shaban; indeed he used to join it to Ramadan."
