أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي حَرْمَلَةَ - قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي كُرَيْبٌ، أَنَّ أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ، بَعَثَتْهُ إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ بِالشَّامِ - قَالَ - فَقَدِمْتُ الشَّامَ فَقَضَيْتُ حَاجَتَهَا وَاسْتَهَلَّ عَلَىَّ هِلاَلُ رَمَضَانَ وَأَنَا بِالشَّامِ فَرَأَيْتُ الْهِلاَلَ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ ثُمَّ قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فِي آخِرِ الشَّهْرِ فَسَأَلَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْهِلاَلَ فَقَالَ مَتَى رَأَيْتُمْ فَقُلْتُ رَأَيْنَاهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ . قَالَ أَنْتَ رَأَيْتَهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ وَرَآهُ النَّاسُ فَصَامُوا وَصَامَ مُعَاوِيَةُ . قَالَ لَكِنْ رَأَيْنَاهُ لَيْلَةَ السَّبْتِ فَلاَ نَزَالُ نَصُومُ حَتَّى نُكْمِلَ ثَلاَثِينَ يَوْمًا أَوْ نَرَاهُ . فَقُلْتُ أَوَلاَ تَكْتَفِي بِرُؤْيَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ لاَ هَكَذَا أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ .
Kuraib überlieferte, dass Umm al-Fadl ihn zu Muʿāwiyah nach asch-Schām sandte. Er sagte:
„Ich kam nach asch-Schām und erledigte ihren Auftrag. Dann wurde der Neumond des Ramadan gesichtet, während ich in asch-Schām war. Ich sah den Neumond in der Nacht zum Freitag. Danach kam ich am Ende des Monats nach al-Madīnah. ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās fragte mich nach der Sichtung des Mondes und sagte: ‚Wann habt ihr ihn gesehen?‘ Ich sagte: ‚Wir sahen ihn in der Nacht zum Freitag.‘ Er sagte: ‚Du hast ihn in der Nacht zum Freitag gesehen?‘ Ich sagte: ‚Ja, und die Menschen sahen ihn ebenfalls und begannen zu fasten, ebenso Muʿāwiyah.‘ Er sagte: ‚Wir sahen ihn jedoch in der Nacht zum Samstag. Daher werden wir weiterfasten, bis wir dreißig Tage vollendet haben oder ihn sehen.‘ Ich sagte: ‚Bist du nicht mit der Sichtung durch Muʿāwiyah und seine Gefährten zufrieden?‘ Er sagte: ‚Nein; so hat es uns der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) aufgetragen.‘“
Kuraib narrated that Umm Al-Fadl sent him to Muawiyah in Ash-Sham. He said:
"I came to Ash-Sham. He said: "I came to Ash-Sham and complete her errand. Then the new crescent of Ramadan was sighted while I was in Ash-Sham. I saw the new crescent on the night of Friday, then I came to Al-Madinah at the end of the month. 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas asked me about the sighting of the moon and said: ' When did you see it?' I said: 'We saw it on the night of Friday.' He said; 'You saw it on the ninth of Friday?' I said: 'Yes, and the people saw it and started fasting, and so did Muawiyah. He said: 'But we saw it on the night of Saturday, so we will continue fasting until we have completed thirty days or we see it.' I said: 'Will you not be content with the sighting of Muawiyah and his companions? He said; 'No; this is what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) enjoined upon us."'

Es wurde überliefert, dass Ibn ʿAbbās sagte:
„Ein Beduine kam zum Propheten und sagte: ‚Ich habe die Mondsichel gesichtet.‘ Er sagte: ‚Bezeugst du, dass es keinen gibt, der zu Recht angebetet wird, außer Allah, und dass Muhammad Sein Diener und Gesandter ist?‘ Er sagte: ‚Ja.‘ Daraufhin ließ der Prophet (ﷺ) bekannt geben: ‚Fastet.‘“
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said;
"A Bedouin came to the Prphet and said: 'I have sighted the crescent.' He said: 'Do you bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger?' He said: 'Yes.' So the Prophet (ﷺ) gave the call saying: 'Fast."'

"A Bedouin come to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said; 'I have sighted the crescent tonight.' He said: 'Do you bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Messenger?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'O Bilal, announce to the people that they should fast tomorrow. "'

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ، - وَكَانَ شَيْخًا صَالِحًا بِطَرَسُوسَ - قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْجَدَلِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي يُشَكُّ فِيهِ فَقَالَ أَلاَّ إِنِّي جَالَسْتُ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَسَاءَلْتُهُمْ وَأَنَّهُمْ حَدَّثُونِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ " صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَانْسُكُوا لَهَا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَكْمِلُوا ثَلاَثِينَ فَإِنْ شَهِدَ شَاهِدَانِ فَصُومُوا وَأَفْطِرُوا " .
Es wurde überliefert, dass ʿAbdur-Raḥmān ibn Zaid ibn al-Khaṭṭāb am Tag des Zweifels – an dem unklar war, ob der Monat begonnen hatte – zu den Menschen sprach und sagte: „Ich saß mit den Gefährten des Gesandten Allahs (ﷺ) zusammen, befragte sie, und sie überlieferten, dass der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sagte: ‚Fastet, wenn ihr ihn seht, und beendet das Fasten, wenn ihr ihn seht, und vollzieht die Riten entsprechend. 'Abdur-Rahman bin Zaid bin Al-Khattab addressed the people on the day concerning which there was doubt (as to whether the month had begun) and said: "I sat with the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and asked them, and they a narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Fast when you see it and stop fasting when you see it, and perform the rites on that basis. If it is obscured, then complete thirty days, and if two witnesses testify then fast and stop fasting."

"When you see the crescent then fast, and when you crescent then fast, and when you see it, stop fasting. If it is obscured from you (too cloudy), then fast thirty days."

ʿAbdullah ibn ʿUmar sagte:
„Ich hörte den Gesandten Allahs sagen: ‚Wenn ihr die Mondsichel seht, dann fastet; und wenn ihr sie seht, dann beendet das Fasten. Wenn sie euch jedoch verborgen bleibt (aufgrund von Bewölkung), dann berechnet es (vom Beginn des Monats an, um dreißig Tage zu vollenden).‘“

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ " لاَ تَصُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْهُ وَلاَ تُفْطِرُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْهُ فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ " .
Es wurde von Ibn ʿUmar überliefert, dass der Prophet (ﷺ) sagte:
„Beginnt nicht zu fasten, bevor ihr ihn seht, und beendet das Fasten nicht, bevor ihr ihn seht. Wenn er euch jedoch verborgen bleibt (weil der Himmel bewölkt ist), dann berechnet ihn.“
It was narrated form Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"D not fast until you see it , and do not stop fasting until you see it, and if it is obscured from you (too cloudy), then work it out."

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ " لاَ تَقَدَّمُوا الشَّهْرَ حَتَّى تَرَوُا الْهِلاَلَ قَبْلَهُ أَوْ تُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ثُمَّ صُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوُا الْهِلاَلَ أَوْ تُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ قَبْلَهُ " .
Es wurde von Ribʿī ibn Hirāsch über Hudhaifa ibn al-Yamān überliefert, dass der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sagte:
„Beginnt den Monat nicht, bevor ihr die Mondsichel seht oder die Anzahl der Tage vollendet habt. Dann fastet, bis ihr den Neumond seht oder die Anzahl der Tage vollendet habt.“
It was narrated from Ribii bin Hirash, from Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Do not anticipate the month until you see the crescent before it, or you complete the number of days. Then fast until you see the new moon, or you complete the number of days."

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ، عَنْ بَعْضِ، أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ " لاَ تَقَدَّمُوا الشَّهْرَ حَتَّى تُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ أَوْ تَرَوُا الْهِلاَلَ ثُمَّ صُومُوا وَلاَ تُفْطِرُوا حَتَّى تَرَوُا الْهِلاَلَ أَوْ تُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ثَلاَثِينَ " . أَرْسَلَهُ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ .
Es wurde von Ribʿī überliefert, dass einer der Gefährten des Propheten (ﷺ) sagte:
„Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sagte: ›Nehmt den Beginn des Monats nicht vorweg, bis ihr die Anzahl vervollständigt habt oder die Mondsichel seht. Dann fastet, und hört nicht mit dem Fasten auf, bis ihr die Mondsichel seht oder die dreißig Tage vollständig erreicht habt.‹“
(Ṣaḥīḥ.) Al-Ḥajjāj ibn Arṭāh überlieferte ihn als Mursal-Überlieferung.
It was narrated from Ribi that one of the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

Es wurde überliefert, dass Ribʿī sagte:
„Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sagte: ‚Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sagte: Wenn ihr die Mondsichel seht, dann fastet, und wenn ihr sie seht, dann beendet das Fasten. Wenn der Himmel bewölkt ist, dann vervollständigt Schaʿbān mit dreißig Tagen, es sei denn, ihr seht zuvor die Mondsichel; dann fastet Ramaḍān dreißig Tage, es sei denn, ihr seht zuvor die Neumondsichel.‘“
It was narrated that Ribi said;
"the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When you see the crescent then fast, and when you see it, then stop fasting. If it is too cloudy then complete Shaban as thirty days, unless you see the crescent before that, then fast Ramadan as thirty days, unless you see the new crescent before that."'

Ibn ʿAbbās überlieferte, dass der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sagte:
„Fastet, wenn ihr ihn seht, und beendet das Fasten, wenn ihr ihn seht. Wenn Wolken euch daran hindern, ihn zu sehen, dann vollendet die Anzahl, und beginnt nicht vor Ramadan mit dem Fasten.“
Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Fast when you see it, and stop fasting when you see it, and if clouds prevent you from seeing it, then complete the number, and do not fast ahead of Ramadan."
